Eight people were killed and many others injured in a terrible incident at Houston's Astroworld festival. Now, Travis Scott's career may be on the line. Live Nation and Scott have been named in the first lawsuit. In the coming weeks, more lawsuits will be filed.

Scott isn't the only lawsuit he has pending. If you know anything about Scott, you'll know that. This is not his first or third lawsuit. It's no surprise that people are asking:

What does Travis Scott's net worth look like after all these lawsuits?

Scott's first album, "Rodeo", was released in 2015. It featured his quadruple platinum hit song "Antidote". He went on to release several albums, including "Astroworld", which earned him many Grammy nominations. Scott's career took off even further when he began dating Kylie Jenner. This made him practically a household name. They have a three year-old daughter together and Jenner recently revealed that she is expecting their second child.

Scott founded his own label Cactus Jack Records in 2017. This name has been used for many of the collaborations he has done. He has worked with many brands over the years including Nike, Dior, Epic Games and Byredo. He collaborated with McDonald's on the Cactus Jack menu, created Cacti seltzers and developed his own cannabis brand called Cactus Farms. Scott managed to do all this while still maintaining a successful music career and touring. Maybe it was too much and too fast.

Many and Various Lawsuits

Scott seems to have taken on too many projects, resulting in numerous lawsuits. In September 2021, Scott was sued for misleadingly labeling his spiked seltzers. Rebecca Read sued Cacti after purchasing the seltzers on the basis of the brand's claim that they were "made with 100% Blue Agave (Mexico)".

Spiked drinks are made with an agave sweetnesser. This is not the same as what was used to make Weber Blue Agave tequila. The lawyers representing Travis Scott hope to make this a class action lawsuit.

KontrolFreek filed suit against Travis Scott, Cactus Jack and Cactus Jack in September 2020. They claimed that they had "reproduced KontrolFreek’s copyright-protected photos of their joysticks." Cactus Jack claims that the photos were altered to overlay the Cactus Jack logo/design on top of the KontrolFreek thumbstick for Fortnite. These photos were used by Cactus Jack to sell gaming merchandise at a virtual concert Scott gave through Fortnite.

KontrolFreek enthusiasts believed that the brand was responsible for the Cactus Jack merchandise due to the similarities in the advertisements and products. The thumbsticks were purchased by gamers believing that they were KontrolFreek quality products. The lawsuit claims that the packaging copied KontrolFreek's slogan and description bullet points.

Scott's battle with KontrolFreek was not his first lawsuit for copyright infringement. The rapper settled a $20 million lawsuit brought by DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia in 2019. The lawsuit claimed Scott's song, "No Bystanders", shared a "cadence sound" with their 1997 song, "Tear Da Club Up." Scott also used certain lyrics from "Tear Da Club Up," when he performed the song at the 2019 Grammies.

Scott claimed that he did not know that his record company had not given permission to use certain parts of the Three 6 Mafia song. The lawsuit was settled quickly. The group will also receive writing credits for the song "No Bystanders", in addition to DJ Paul's financial damages. We now know Scott's net worth has taken a dive after this one.

His Other Lawsuits

Entertainment events company PJAM sued Scott in 2018 after he failed at his scheduled performance at Myth Live near Minneapolis on the day before Superbowl. Stormi, Scott's daughter, was born days before the Superbowl. This may have made it difficult for him to attend, but PJAM suffered a substantial loss due to his cancellation at last minute.

Scott's $150,000 performance advance fee, a private plane for the rapper, as well as costs associated with the venue, staffing, and refunds for tickets, were all part of PJAM's losses. In the lawsuit, it is also mentioned that Scott appeared at scheduled events even though he cancelled. Scott was dismissed from the suit and ordered to pay almost $400k.

Scott was also sued by Kyle Green in 2017 after he was paralysed when he was pushed off a third-floor balcony during one of his shows. Scott was encouraging fans to leap from the balcony to the crowd which caused Green's injuries. Scott instructed Green to get up from the ground and be carried by security guards.

To make up for his injuries, the rapper gave the fan one his rings. His paralysis may have been caused by Green moving to another place immediately after he fell. Because he needed assistance from his family, he was forced to leave the Fashion Institute of Technology. The lawsuit remains pending, despite the fact that it has been many years since.

Astroworld's Tragedy

Scott and his team have not learned from the tragedy at Astroworld. Scott's shows are notoriously rowdy and he has been arrested numerous times for inciting chaos and riots at his shows. Astroworld was no exception. The crowd roared from the moment Scott entered the stage.

Scott stopped the show to help a fan who had "passed away", despite his pleas for help and the cries of the crowd. Since then, all tickets have been refunded. A concert in Las Vegas scheduled for next weekend has been cancelled.

Scott and Jenner bought an 8,141-square foot home in October 2018. The Beverly Hills property was purchased by Scott and Jenner for $13.9million. They split the cost 50/50. The estate boasts six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has over an acre of land and stunning views of the city and ocean.
