Simon Pegg, who is close to Tom Cruise and has "privileged access" with him, does not abuse this.

The actor and author, speaking with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs revealed his relationship with Cruise, a prominent member of The Church of Scientology.

"I don’t ask him stuff like that, because I feel it would be an abuse of my privileged access to him. You know what I mean?" Pegg responded when asked about the religion of his Mission Impossible Co-Star.

He continued to say that their friendship was "just very simple, and amiable." We're friends."

It's been an easy relationship. The "Hot Fuzz' star explained that when you get to know the person, rather than the thickets of mythology built around them, you have a completely different experience. "I think he enjoys the fame, and it's what he knows. It motivates him to work harder.

Star Trek actor noted, however, that he had a different relationship with fame than his friend. Cruise's worldwide fame was not something he would find appealing. "I would find that extremely stressful and overwhelming."

Pegg noted that Cruise is self-aware when it comes celebrity. He said he "kinda appreciates it sometimes."

We joke about it. Pegg said, "I always joke about it. You know, the things he has access to."

Pegg revealed that his friendship with Top Gun's star Top Gun has other fascinating aspects, such as exposure to extreme experiences.

He told anecdotes about how, during a filming break in South Africa, Cruise "decided that he wanted go swim with sharks." Cruise took the two in a helicopter and flew them to the ocean, which Pegg described as a "real Tom Cruise day."

Pegg and Cruise will next be seen in "Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One", the latest installment in the mega-franchise. It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 12, 2023.
