Chris Rock has been a stand-up comedy superstar since the 1990s, and like many comics, he's often brought his personal life to the stage for the sake of telling jokes.

Many of Chris Rock's stand-up specials have made references to his problems with marriage – even after he was with his wife of 19 years, Malaak Compton-Rock.

It turns out these jokes were rooted in truth, with divorce rumors surrounding the couple leading to divorce proceedings in 2014.
