Airing on Comedy Central, the show earned rave reviews and a massively loyal fanbase for Chapelle, but at the height of the show's popularity, Chapelle abruptly quit the series and traveled abroad to avoid the press. With Chapelle recently in the news for a comedy special earning less than rave reviews, many fans are remembering when he appeared on David Letterman's Netflix show, "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction," to explain why he left "Chapelle's Show" in 2005.
