Hollywood Will Not Cast Lucas Cruikshank Again

Depending on how old you were at the height of his popularity, you likely thought YouTuber Lucas Cruikshank's character Fred was either the most hilarious thing the internet had to offer … or a valid reason to have your ears filled with cement. Still, it's hard to argue with the popularity of Cruikshank's rambunctious, childlike character. It isn't every day that a YouTube content creator manages to snag multiple movie deals plus their very own (though short-lived) Nickelodeon show.

And while Fred has gone down in internet infamy as something of an artifact from a bygone era in which chaotic, over-energized content was considered the pinnacle of comedy, the character's presence has all but vanished from the web — and from the big screen. So what exactly happened? This is why Hollywood won't cast Lucas Cruikshank anymore.
