"17 Kids and Counting" made a big impression when it premiered in 2008, and as the Duggar family grew (to "18 Kids and Counting," and then "19 Kids and Counting"), the family's audience grew as well.

The series came to an end in 2015 following a scandalous report of predatory behavior regarding Josh Duggar, but the story of the Duggar family continued promptly in the spinoff "Counting On."

In June 2021, "Counting On" was canceled, again reportedly due to Josh Duggar, who was arrested in April on new charges.
