All the Hidden Details of Queen Camilla's Coronation Outfit

All the Hidden Details of Queen Camilla's Coronation Outfit

The dress, which she wore at King Charles' coronation, seemed to honor Queen Elizabeth II's love for nature and her dogs as well as the love between the couple.

The Queen's coronation outfit was full of hidden personal details.

The 75-year old Queen arrived in Westminster Abbey for the wedding of King Charles on May 6, wearing a crimson velvet robe with ermine and an ivory dress with silver, gold and silver embroidery.

Camilla's Robe of State, originally designed for Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and altered by London's oldest tailors Ede and Ravenscroft, combines tradition and modernity.

The dress was made of silk and designed by Bruce Oldfield. It featured Oldfield's signature paneling and intricate embroidery, including "daisy chain, forget-me nots, celandine, and scarlet pimpernel" to represent the Queen and King Consorts love for nature and British countryside, the Palace said in a press release.

Two gold dogs appeared near the trim on the dress, paying tribute to Camilla’s two rescue pups, Bluebell, and Beth. The names of Camilla’s two children, Tom, and Laura, as well as her grandchildren, were also embroidered.

Camilla also wore the Robe of Estate when she left the ceremony. It was designed by Ede & Ravenscroft. The cape was hand embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework and featured 24 plants sewn in gold thread. The lily-of-the valley was one of them. It was the flower that was in Her Royal Highness's wedding bouquet, and was also a favorite of Queen Elizabeth II.

The bouquet also featured a Lady's Mantle, which represents love and comfort. Maidenhair Ferns represent purity while cornflowers symbolize love and tenderness. The garment also included a Delphinium, which is one of King Charles's favorite flowers and Camilla's July birth month flower. The United Kingdom's emblems, which include roses, thistles and shamrocks were also sewn onto the garment.

The robe was embroidered for the first-time with insects such as bees and butterflies.

The Queen wore the same necklace as Queen Elizabeth II wore on her coronation in 1953.
