The Smallville actress assisted the feds in building a case against NXIVM leader Keith Raniere
Allison Mack was released from prison early after pleading guilty to her role in the NXIVM case of sex trafficking.
According to federal records, the Smallville actress, 40, has served two of her three-year sentence. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, she was released in California on Monday.
In June 2021, the actress was sentenced three years behind bars. Mack pleaded guilty two years earlier to crimes relating to NXIVM, ranging from extortion and forced labor. The actress faced a maximum sentence of 14-17 1/2 years, but prosecutors said that her cooperation with the investigation was sufficient to reduce the sentence.
NXIVM marketed itself as a self help group, but investigators said it was actually a secret sex-cult led Keith Raniere. Raniere is currently serving a 120 year prison sentence.
Mack stated in a previous court filing: "I'm sorry to those of ya that I brought into NXIVM. I'm sorry that I exposed you to the evil and abusive plans of a man who is twisted. "I am sorry I encouraged you to spend your money on something so ugly."
Raniere is accused of keeping a group women on a starvation diet and branding them with his initials.
Mack's role on Smallville as Clark Kent’s friend Chloe Sullivan was her most well-known role prior to the federal investigation of NXIVM.
