The 75-year old actor describes his first encounter with Shriver in 1977, after being introduced to her by Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

Arnold Schwarzenegger looks back on the first meeting he had with his ex-wife Maria Shriver.

According to people, the 75-year old actor detailed his reaction when he met Shriver through her mother, Eunice K. Shriver.

Schwarzenneger told a story about Shriver's mother approaching him in 1977 with her daughter. He then gave Shriver an unreserved compliment.

"[She] came to me and told me, 'It is so nice to have you here.' In his documentary, the "Terminator's" star revealed that this was Maria Shriver. Then, she told me later, "My daughter loves you," and I replied, "Well, your child has a nice ars." "I have to tell that.

Schwarzenneger, looking back on the incident, said that he is unsure of where the comment originated.

He said, "What a stupid statement." "I don’t know why I even said it."

Schwarzenneger then recalled his first meeting with Shriver.

He said, "I fell in love because of her extraordinary personality and not because she is a Kennedy." "I saw that little rebel inside her. She wanted to leave Austria too, just as I did. "That was the beginning for Maria and me."

Shriver and Schwarzenegger, both 67 years old, married in 1986. They have four children together: Katherine, Christina and Patrick.

Shriver filed for divorce on July 11, 2011, after Schwarzenegger confessed that he was involved with the housekeeper of Shriver's family and had secretly fathered Joseph Baena (now 25 years old, ). Their divorce was finalized by December 2021.

In his Netflix docu-series that premieres on Wednesday, Schwarzenegger reveals how Shriver discovered he fathered another child with a woman.
