Jade Roper has recovered from surgery after suffering a missed miscarriage.
Alumna of The Bachelor, Alicia took to Instagram to talk about her heartbreaking loss and the road to recovery.
Here we are. It's not what I expected or wanted, but this is how it turned out. "I wanted to bury my son under a tree in our backyard, so I could see his body. That's why I waited so long to trust my own body," Roper wrote Tuesday in an emotional Instagram posting.
Roper, accompanied by a picture of herself in a hospital before the procedure, continued: "But it's time to heal, and move on from this loss." I have been trying to respect my baby and protect my peace, so I only shared bits and pieces to help others feel less alone.
The reality star told her unborn baby, "I love you, I see you, I understand your pain." "And Beau, I carried you for almost five months, and your soul for just a little bit less. But I will always carry you in my heart, wherever I go."
She updated her fans about her recovery on Instagram Story after the surgery. Roper posted a selfie of herself with a hospital bracelet around her wrist, a bandage covering her hand and the words "Home" underneath. She shares three children with her husband Tanner Tolbert: Reed, Brooks and Emerson. Resting", calling herself "heartbroken but at peace."
Roper gave her health update just two weeks after telling her fans that she had "navigated a miscarriage".
"While his body has not released the pregnancy (yet), even though he's stopped growing and has had a stopped heart for some time, I still have a pregnant woman inside me." "I am hoping that this will happen naturally, and I trust in the timing and my body under my provider's care," she wrote then.
Roper shared a photo of her ultrasound and a picture of her baby bump, while expressing the "deep and complicated grief" that she and her spouse were feeling.
Roper posted an Instagram Story that said, "At the ER I woke up feeling awful. I needed bloodwork and an ultrasound right away." "Still having a missed miscarriage, and my body won't release the pregnancy."
She asked her fans to "respect" her decision to go the natural route before having surgery. Roper also thanked her partner Tolbert, saying that he had tried to bring light into a dark situation.
She added, "He has been trying to make us laugh today in order to keep our mood [and state of mind] lighter with all that is going on."
Roper and Tolbert had not yet publicly announced the pregnancy, despite being married since January 2016.
