Can the Survivor legend repair the damage? The first Head of the Household also removes two people from the Block.
After the Big Brother 25, premiere twist, which saw four Houseguests being nominated for removal before we had a Head Household in place, things returned to normal by the second episode. Two of them were relocated.
Instead of nominating anyone for eviction the new HOH had to remove two HGs, leaving two traditional nominees in front of the Power of Veto Competition. The two they removed could still be at risk, depending on what happens to the Veto.
There was chaos as usual in the House, with 17 Houseguests trying their best to determine who was who from the start and how to play. Already, we have our first alliance and an almost immediate betrayal - though it's not clear if the betrayal was undeserved.
These HGs were there to play, and they played hard. It is yet to be determined if this will be an effective strategy.
We will break down each episode's events, including the competitions and alliances. We'll also discuss the backstabbing, lies, and other shady activities. We'll then grade each contestant based on how they are doing so far in the game and where we think they will go.
Introductions and Recognition
It's not a name we can take seriously. Cory did not stay away for long after being pulled into the Nether region during the Night 1 Competitions. He returned just in time to introduce himself after an hour.
Cory told him that, despite only being in the Nether region for an hour, the next week's Scary Verse loser "won't have such luck."
We noticed that Cirie changed the names of the boys she introduced during the round-table intros to dispel suspicions about her and Jared. The HGs also pretended to not know each other when they first entered the house following the Night 1 competition, but that didn't really matter.
Izzy knew it as soon as she saw Cirie. Any Superfan of Survivor might have figured it out when Jared visited her during one season. Izzy was able to figure it out, because she stalks Cirie's social networking.
Jared was immediately alerted to the incident and pulled her out into the hallway of the bathroom in order to minimize any damage. He asked for her promise that she would not say anything. She was happy to oblige.
Izzy confirmed that their relationship was good when he later told Cirie Izzy had known all about it. If she sticks to her word, then this will be a tight alliance between the three of them to get things started. Izzy also admitted that she is fully aware of her leverage over the two of them in a confessional.
Cirie, the queen of social and strategic games, also knows that nothing can get past her. She may use Izzy to help Jared and her games for the time being, but will let her go as soon as she smells something, which is usually pretty quickly.

Professor Cirie
A very brief conversation Cirie had with Jared gave us a glimpse of how deep Cirie's game is. She told him she heard him tell Kirsten that they would talk later. She warned him to "clean up" the conversation.
Cirie is well aware of the power of information. She is a master at what she does, and will now be teaching her son live. If Jared is able to read the note, this duo could be very dangerous.
We'll admit that we weren’t that impressed when he later told the new HOH if they had their back, he would promise both his support and the support of Felicia Cirie. It's worse to tell about conversations than possible alliances.
He doesn't like people associating Cirie with him any more than what they already do. Both have similar features. How long will they be able to keep this secret?

Are You Playing Too Hard?
Kirsten was the other player to get the most airtime in the second episode, and that was because she did the most strategizing. She not only jumped into the first named alliance of the season, but also tried to create something with Felicia & Cirie.
The Phalanx 5 was formed by accident almost in the gym when a group (Kirsten Reilly Luke Jared Matthew) began to talk about working out together in the morning. Luke was proud to name the alliance.
This was Night 1, and no one believed that it was real. Kirsten's opinion of the P5 is unclear, but it's clear that she was not satisfied with that fivesome. While she was on The Block, Kirsten tried to form alliances and relationships with other people to protect her game.
Jared, Felicia and Cory were also on the block. They were not scrambling at the same level. Kirsten's situation was made worse by the fact that she didn't know Jared and Cirie were already the tightest of allies in her house.
Jared informed Cirie that Kirsten was already in a relationship with him prior to her meeting Cirie and Felicia. This set off alarms that she was not to be trusted.

First HOH to be Crowned
It was finally time to crown the Head of Household for the season. The classic balance beam contest was held, but with an added twist of onomatopoeia sign swinging to knock the competitors off.
We're glad that someone actually wanted it. Hisam and Reilly were the only ones who seemed to have competitive scores. Reilly scored the highest by choosing the longest route with the thickest beams.
She was given the task of removing two out of four Block nominees, so it was time to lobby for her safety. Felicia, Cirie and Jared quickly filled her in on Kirsten’s game, which was enough for her to decide to target Kirsten.
Cory was not interested in playing a role. He lobbied to protect himself. After a bad start, Reilly was able to convince him that his game started unfairly. You do it this way!
Cirie was also lobbying for Jared, though in a more subtle way. Whatever she and her son fed Reilly worked, as both men came off The Block. Felicia was left as a pawn in front of Kirsten.
If she doesn't succeed in saving herself with the POV, Kirsten is about to change her tune. They also need to convince enough members of the House to target Kirsten. She is actually a greater threat overall than Felicia, assuming that the nominees do not change. We'll know Wednesday.
Houseguest Report Cards
Cory Wurtenberger (21, college student) has proven that his persuasive speech crown isn't hyperbole by getting himself removed from The Block. He has also set his sights on Cirie. He appears to be a person who really studies the game. Yet, nobody has noticed how clever his early strategy has been. He could become a surprise player as the game continues, using his persuasion skills and strategies to get others to follow his lead. [Grade: B+]
Reilly Smedley (24) bartender, wanted to be the first HOH. We applauded her for being willing to play and get dirty. The first HOH can be a mixed bag but tends to build stronger bonds early on as everyone wants to speak to the HOH. She has already gotten two people to thank her and she's had everyone talk strategy with her. This will continue after the POV. No one seems to begrudging her for this early win. [Grade: B+]
Cirie fields (53) (nurse) entered the house with an enormous target on her back. It seems no one wants to take a shot at this woman, except Cory. Izzy is also a potential threat. We're impressed by how quickly she has built strong bonds with those who can protect Jared and her. [Grade: B]
Izzy Gleicher (32, professional flutist), has leverage on both Cirie & Jared. She's keeping this information to herself, however, for now. It's in her best interest to go with the duo she already knows to test if this will help her further into the game. She will have to figure out how and when to remove the heads of this snake. (Grade: B)
Hisam GOUELI (45-year-old geriatric doctor) hasn't shown much strategic ability yet, but is proving to be a person worth watching this season. He came in second in the challenge tonight. He is also doing an excellent job at enamoring the house, who love his burlesque nights. He is a person who may be under the radar but is a greater threat than most people think. [Grade: B]
Jared Fields (25" exterminator), is a bit of a worry to us with his loose mouth, but he also gets real-time tips from an expert in this kind of gaming. They could keep Izzy on their side and quiet for a little while. He might be the first to be targeted if he and Cirie were outed. [Grade: B-]
Red Utley (37) & Cameron Hardin (34) are like two peas - they have a Southern charm that is infectious. We think their silly sayings, and lifestyles so different, are helping them to engender goodwill early on in the game. [Grade: B-]
Jag Bains, (25, owner of a truck company) is someone that everyone seems to enjoy interacting with. He is so engaging and outgoing, he does a good job at establishing interpersonal relationships. These types of bonds are important at this stage in the game because they will lead to stronger alliances. [Grade: C+]
Matthew Klotz is a gold medalist in the deaflympics. He's also a pretty handsome guy. We suspect that he is in a safe spot as no one wants to be first to target the gold medalist who is deaf. He needs to take advantage of it, but that can be difficult as he has trouble hearing the conversations in the house. [Grade: C+]
Blue Kim is energetic, gregarious and fun-loving. She is doing the right thing because she doesn't draw attention to herself. As relationships become more intimate, her quirkiness may prove beneficial. [Grade: C]
Felicia cannon 63-year-old real estate agent, Felicia Cannon may be in the House, but she seems to have done a great deal of relationship building. Kirsten isn't the only person who does not want an older person to go home first. Felicia poses no threat to anyone so it would surprise us to see her leave. She is still in danger. [Grade: C]
According to the TV footage, America Lopez (27) is fading into obscurity, as are Bowie Jane Ball (45) (barrister/DJ), Luke Valentine (31) (30, illustrator), and Mecole Hayes (31) (30, political consultant). This early in the game, it's not a bad thing. Keep your target small. They're proving to be likable, and they get along well in the house. [Grade: C]
Kirsten E. Elwin is playing a dangerous and large game. Though she is unaware, she has become this week's main target. She strategizes with too many people, not realizing that their bonds aren't strong enough to allow them to compare notes. She may have strategized her way out of the game if she does not win Veto or find someone who will fight for her. [Grade: D]
