Wright shared, "I felt like my anxiety might have been about being perceived as bad at portraying the character.
Bonnie Wright who played Ginny in the Harry Potter franchise, has opened up about how difficult it is to adapt a character based on a popular book series. She also reveals that the lack of screentime can be "disappointing."
Wright spoke about her attempts to bring this character to life on the In You Podcast, hosted by Michael Rosenbaum.
Wright said, "I felt a lot of anxiety about performing well and building my character."
"Like 'Oh my god, will I be able to do justice to the character that everyone loves?' It was difficult to achieve, particularly when the scenes from each character's book were cut down for the film.
You didn't have much to say in the movie.
"Sometimes, that was a bit disappointing because some parts of the character just didn't come through because there wasn't the scene to do that," said the actress. "That made feel a little anxious or frustrated, I suppose."
Wright noted that "there was no room for many changes in those scripts" and she never complained to producers about the role of the character.
She said, "There were millions of executives looking through all the documents." "I don't think I took it as seriously now, but I do remember what I thought I did.
Wright continued, "I felt like my anxiety might have been about the fact that I was going to be perceived as portraying this character badly. "Rather than realizing I wasn't given the chance to do that. It wasn't my fault at all.
Fans do share this disappointment, and they do so in a manner that says "We know it wasn’t you. Wright said, "We just wanted more from you." "And it's the exact same for every character." "If only they were five-hour long movies."
