Brooklinn Khoury, a pro skateboarder, has opened up about her seventh lip reconstruction after being attacked by a pitbull in 2020.

The 23-year old athlete, who has been sharing her healing journey and procedures on Instagram and TikTok, took to social media Thursday to share the results of her most recent reconstructive surgery. She shared that her surgeon had "recreated her top lip", including a Cupid bow and central columns.

"The surgery yesterday went really smoothly!" Khoury captioned a TikTok and Instagram post. "My surgeon was successful in achieving what he had hoped to achieve. He rebuilt the central columns, the lips and the cupid's bow.

She said, "I am very swollen right currently, but once it goes down it'll look amazing," "Thank God."

In the Instagram post above, she shared three photos of her post-op showing the results.

Khoury also uploaded an eight-second compilation video to TikTok. It featured short clips of Khoury's face and side profiles in the five days before her lip reconstruction surgery. In a clip that she took at the hospital, Khoury included a look of herself just 30 minutes prior to her surgery. The singer concluded TikTok with footage of her day following the operation.

Khoury, however, spoke with People about her seventh lip surgery. She revealed that it was her last.

"Basically, my surgeon is creating the top lip in this operation -- creating a Cupid’s bow and central columns. She said that it was a way to make my lip more artistic. "My doctor is very careful and wants everything to go perfectly.

According to Khoury, the procedure is usually done in one day. She also shared that it can take six weeks for her lips to heal after surgery. Khoury noted that her upper lip may feel numb for up to four months after the surgery.

Khoury stated that she isn't worried about the outcome of the surgery after the dog attack.

People reported that her personal hope is to learn to love what she sees, much like any other surgery. "Before, all I focused on was the little things that didn’t matter. For example, when the attack occurred, I noticed a small zit on my upper lips. I was so insecure about this. Then, 15 minutes later my entire lips were gone."

Khoury said, "So it just shifted me perspective. I've been learning to live now and discover that beauty doesn't have a definition." "Of course, there's the thrill of seeing myself and a little bit of me from before [the attack]. But I'm excited to hopefully be done.

The "Waiting For You” singer stated that she is looking forward to returning to an active lifestyle.

Khoury acknowledged that "that's one of my biggest challenges is having to just sit still and kinda refocus me attention into not being active and biking, hiking, surfing, and skating." "But we are almost there."
