Elle Fanning Told She Was Too 'Unf---able' for Movie Role When She Was Just 16

Elle Fanning Told She Was Too 'Unf---able' for Movie Role When She Was Just 16

She began by saying, "I have never told this tale," before calling the person making the comment "a disgusting piggy."

Elle Fanning shared a disturbing incident that happened during her teenage years in a roundtable of actresses.

The 25-year old star of "The Great", Ayo Edebiri, sat with Emmy winner Sheryl Le Ralph and Natashalyonne from "Poker Face", Ayo Edwardi, the breakout star in "The Bear", and Devery Jacobs, who is currently starring in "Reservation Dogs", for The Hollywood Reporter’s Comedy actress roundtable. She revealed something which made everyone's jaws

This story was told after women were asked if they felt more autonomy now in their career compared to earlier years.

"I have never told this tale, but I tried out for a film. I didn't get it. "I don't think they made it. But it was a dad-daughter comedy," she said. "I didn’t hear from my agent because they wouldn’t tell me this -- that filtering system is important because there are probably a lot of more damaging comments they filter -- but this one really got to me."

Fanning claimed that she was 16 years old and was literally 17 at the time. The person who said this was astonished, "Oh, she didn’t get the father-daughter comedy road trip because she’s unf---able" Fanning got a "Whoa!" "At 16?" Ralph, who sat next to her, was shocked. Ralph sat next to her.

"Yes. It's so disgusting. Fanning has shared similar stories with other professionals in the film industry. "I laugh now, like 'What an disgusting pig'!"

Fanning, when asked about how she handled such feedback at the time said that she was "always extremely confident", but growing up in public can be "weird."

"I will look at paparazzi pictures from when I 12 years old and wonder, 'Is it a good idea to see yourself so clearly at such an early age?' She said, "I don't think it hurt me but it made me more aware of myself."

Lyonne shared an experience from her Hollywood days. She claimed that, as a 14- or 15-year old actress, when she auditioned to be in a remake of "Lolita," she was asked: "Can you eat the banana slowly?"

"And I already was a bit tough, so I said, 'So, you mean to eat the banana slow?' "But it's sick," continued she. "It seems that your question is about taking a step into autonomy. And certainly, being able find a degree of autonomy, this is the blessing of success. You can choose more carefully and intelligently what you want to do.
