It's not surprising that Tom Bergeron was fired from DWTS after 28 seasons

It's not surprising that Tom Bergeron was fired from DWTS after 28 seasons

"The show I left wasn't the one I loved."

Although Tom Bergeron's departure from "Dancing with the Stars," was shocking to viewers, he said in a new interview that it wasn't surprising that Erin Andrews and he would be leaving after 28 seasons.

The 66-year old host of Bob Saget's Podcast talked about his exit from the legendary dance series on an episode. Tyra Banks replaced the two DWTS veterans before Season 29.

Saget was told by Bergeron that "In all honesty, the show I left wasn't the one that I loved." "So, at the end the season that turned into my last season, I kinda knew. I took everything from my dressing room that I wanted. I took everything out of my dressing room that I wanted. It was obvious that we were a bit of a butting head [behind the scenes]. It was not a pleasant experience.

Bergeron continued to say that his exit was not sad or disappointing.

He continued, "I wasn’t surprised that it was my last season. So there was no blue period." "Actually Erin and me had more fun being fired that almost anyone.

The show's first debut was in 2005 when the 66-year old television personality started as its host. Andrews joined the show as co-host in 2014. This was before Season 18. Bergeron said that he had a positive experience on the series. However, there were conflicts with staff changes and he couldn't "see eye to eye" with producers. In 2019, he was vocal about his concerns over the hiring of Sean Spicer, Donald Trump's former press secretary.

"They have the right to show it the way they see fit. He said that he looks back on the time he spent there with great fondness. "And there are still people on the show that I care about and I want them all to have long careers. People should still be able to watch the show and support them, even though it is different. You know what? There are still talented people who will be on your screens.

ABC announced that Andrews and Bergeron would be leaving in July 2020. The network also stated that Tyra would be joining the show in "a new direction" by hiring Tyra.

However, Banks' host role has been met with mixed reactions from fans.
