Jonah Hill won't be silenced

The actor spoke on Monday's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", where he discussed the prank that he played on his "Don't Look Up," costars during their press tour for the Netflix movie.

He explained that he was working on another project with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and joked with her about how he thought it would be fun to use a fart machine while interviewing his A-list co-stars, including Meryl Streep and Leonardo DiCaprio, while promoting Adam McKay’s movie. Louis-Dreyfus gave the device to him as a gift as a wrap present for the project they were working together on.

It was an "old school" item that he brought to Fallon. He said it would be funny for a 6-year old, and it was fun. He put it to good use while promoting "Don’t Look Up" during this week.

"I have been using the machine for a few weeks now. We had a fancy press conference, and I was asked to do the fart machine while someone was discussing climate change. Fallon told him that he hit the fart machine. It was not funny to me and my cast mates. Meryl Streep was the OG Legend of the OG, and found it funny. That is why I ride with me any day, night or day.

McKay apparently used it so often that he actually brought it up to him with a request from Netflix for it to be stopped.

He said, "You're going to get a kick from this. Hill claimed that Netflix, the film's producer, had asked him multiple times to ask me to stop using the fart machine in press conferences for the movie. Hill stated, "They don’t find it funny or interesting." It was hilarious to me."

He then spoke directly into the camera, speaking to the streamer's powers-that-be. My digital farts will never be silenced by any corporate entity, momf---er!

Later on the show, he spoke out more about his work with Streep. He also mentioned how Streep, possibly at the same press conference in which he used the fart machine and expressed confusion over Hill's nickname for her.

"Meryl Steep is actually very cool. She is the greatest actor. We've been doing press about this movie and I keep saying, "Oh, and you remember, Meryl is the GOAT," which stands for Greatest of All Time. Meryl is my GOAT. She is the greatest ever."

He continued, "Today we're doing press conference and she's like: 'You know and Jonah are so comfortable with me. He's been calling my a goat all week.'" "And I'm like: 'What's the f ---?!'"?

Hill continued to state that Meryl was not offended and added that Jennifer Lawrence had finally set Meryl straight. She also explained what the acronym stood. Streep's reaction was: "So, she said, "Hey, thanks so much for calling me the GOAAT. "I thought you were calling my goat all the time."

Netflix releases "Don't look up" on December 24,
