Reeves' big break came in 1989 when he was one half of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, a comedy about ditzy comedians. He was a Hollywood star thanks to that movie. Reeves also appeared in the Ron Howard-directed comedy hit Parenthood that year. Reeves also appeared in films like I love you to death, My Own Private Idaho, and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. The 1991 hit, Point Break, was his first taste at action movies.

Reeves was a star alongside Sandra Bullock in the 1994 action-smash Speed,, which cemented his reputation as America's most popular action hero. He starred in the action-science fiction movie The Matrix five years later. It grossed more than $465 million worldwide. John Wick

Reeves is known for his ability to make action movies and also has a generous spirit. Reeves' random acts and kindness often make the headlines, whether he gives up his seat on the subway in New York City or helps stranded passengers get to their destination.

While he's a well-known actor and comedian, the Devil's Advocate star won't be taking any credit. In a 2020 interview, he said that he doesn't consider himself to be a role model. Reeves, a 57-year old actor, reportedly gave up a large portion of his earnings for The Matrix sequels to make sure the franchise's special effects crews and costume designers were adequately compensated. Reeves also reportedly cut his salary for the 1997 film Devil's Advocate to make sure there was enough money to hire Al Pacino. In 2000, he did the exact same thing with The Replacements. He gave up a large portion of his salary in order to pay Gene Hackman.

We also know Reeves has donated to numerous charitable organizations, including the one he started. Reeves stated that he has a private foundation which he's run for five to six years. It helps fund research and children's hospitals. "I don’t like to add my name to it. I let the foundation do its job."

The reports that Reeves donates to SCORE (Spinal Cord Options for Rehabilitation Endowment), which is a charity that helps hockey players with spinal injuries. We're certain that he donates to many other charities, even though he is so modest.
