Some Meghan Markle emails and texts have been made public by her lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited (publishers of The Mail On Sunday).

These messages reveal much about Markle's mental state in the weeks before her wedding and her true opinion of the royal family. She says Harry was constantly beaten by his family and she wanted to stop the fighting.

Royals Concerned about Meghan's Father

Markle talks to Jason Knauf, her former communications chief, about her plans to send the famous letter to her father. Jason Knauf has given many interviews about Markle's decision not to attend the royal wedding.

Meghan stated via text that "the catalyst for me doing this was seeing how much pain it is causing H." Meghan sent this message in August 2018. His family seems to forget the context and return to the old stance of 'can't she go and see him?' after spending a week explaining the situation to his dad. '"

She said, "They fundamentally don’t understand so at the least by writing H will be capable to say to his relatives...'She wrote him an email and he is still doing that.' Although unlikely, it may give my father a chance to take a step back. '"

Markle was aware that the letter might be released. She discussed handwriting the letters and numbering them so that certain parts could not be published without context.

Meghan's Court Case

A British judge granted summary judgment to Meghan in February over five articles published in February by Associated Newspapers Limited. These articles included parts of a handwritten note she had sent her father after the royal wedding.

She said, "In terms of the appeal, I won, and this issue has been going on since I had no children at all," while speaking at The New York TimesDealBook Online Summit. It's a difficult process.

Markle said, "But again it's me standing up for the right, whether it's in this case, or in [the] case] we're discussing today." "You will eventually, regardless of how difficult, know the difference between right or wrong. It is important to stand up for what is right. That's exactly what I am doing.
