Monica Lewinsky Reflects on 25th Anniversary of Clinton Scandal, Jokes Tastes in Partners 'Gets Better'

The 49-year old also slams Linda Tripp, "one of the worst friends in the world: Judas, hold my beer!"

Monica Lewinsky will be looking back on the scandalous Bill Clinton sex act 25 years ago.

Lewinsky's affair with then-President Clinton was reported on January 21, 1998. As a result, the latter was impeached and the former was made the focus of public shame in the 1990s.

Lewinsky, 49 years old, published a piece for Vanity Fair listing 25 random things she had "observed" and "learned in the quarter century" that has passed since her name was "made public 25 years ago."

One note contained a joke about Clinton's affair. (Wink.)."

Lewinsky also criticized Linda Tripp and stressed the importance of choosing your friends well.

She wrote, "Twenty-five year ago, I had one the worst friends in the world: Linda 'Judas' Tripp." While I've since let go the bitterness and resentment that she and her betrayal brought to my life, I still feel very lucky to have been able trust new people. My closest emotional relationships are with my amazing friends. These relationships are the most valuable investments.

Lewinsky previously stated that she felt totally betrayed by Tripp. Tripp had recorded their conversations and then turned those recordings over to Ken Starr, an independent counsel, as part of the proceedings leading to Clinton's impeachment.

Lewinsky shared additional lessons she learned over the past 25 years in her Vanity Fair piece. She also acknowledged that everyone makes mistakes.

"One thing we all have in common is the fact that we've all made mistakes. It's inevitable. Be comfortable with the Art of the Mistake," she suggested, adding that you "cannot escape your narrative."

She also discussed some changes she has seen in the public over the past two decades.

Lewinsky pointed to the fact that "the blame-the woman mindset has thankfully receded", and cited the Clinton scandal as an example. Lewinsky also stated that bullying comedy is "no longer very popular" and has "gotten tired."

The "American Crime Story: Impeachment Producer" wrote that her 25th thought was: "Lastly, I don’t know how else to say this except to be direct, insufferably corny: It is possible to survive the impossible." "Alternative ending was the name I gave my TV and film production company Alt Ending.
