The video shows Chad Doerman being booked into the county prison following his arrest. At one point, the officers tell him to "stop beating your head against the wall."
The newly released video, following the arrest and detention of Chad Doerman - the father accused by the police of murdering his three sons - provides new insights into his behavior immediately after the brutal killings.
Doerman was arrested on his porch in June 2015 and booked into county jail. The video shared with Law&Crime shows him being taken to the jail. He is accused of shooting his sons, Clayton Doerman (7 years old), Hunter Doerman (4 years old), and Chase Doerman (3).
As Doerman enters the prison, blood is clearly visible on his face and back.
He is seen repeating his name, and he adds that he thinks he has been in jail at least one time before. He slams the wall with his head at one point. An officer then tells him to stop. Doerman obeys and remains calm for the entire 10-minute clip.
The video is muted in some places, but the rest shows him being stripped searched and patted down before getting the vest that he wore on his booking photo. He's also given a scan of his body and provided with the vest. When he is asked about making a call, authorities tell him that he will get one once the booking process is complete.
Doerman, who was charged with 21 counts of murder planning and conspiracy by prosecutors, pleaded not guilt to those charges last week.
Last Friday, the Ohio father was in court to hear all of the charges brought against him. He was originally charged with three counts for aggravated killing, but a grand juror indicted him on Thursday, adding nine counts of aggravated death, eight counts of kidnapping, and four counts of felonious assault.
Mark Tekulve, Clermont County's Prosecutor, told WLWT that his goal is to "have this man executed" for killing these three boys. He calls it "an unfathomable act of horror [Doerman] perpetrated on this family."
Tekulve described the alleged killing spree of Doerman's children during the hearing. He said the spree started with Doerman shooting his 4-year old son Hunter in his head. He continued, "The second child was a seven-year-old boy who fled from the house and ran about 300 feet away from it. The defendant shot him from behind."
Tekulve said that "[Doerman] shot this injured little boy twice in the head from close range." "Then, he shot the 3-year old at close range. He ripped him from his mother's hands and shot him in the head."
Doerman, of Monroe Township in Ohio, was arrested Thursday, June 15, after police responded to several 911 calls at his home. According to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office one of those 911 calls was made by a woman yelling that "her children had been shot." When deputies and EMS were called, three boys, Doerman’s sons, had not responded. Three boys died from gunshot injuries on the spot. The mother of the children, who tried to protect them, also suffered a gunshot wound in her hand.
Clermont County prosecutor David Gast said that during a bond hearing earlier this year, Doerman "confessed" and "fully admitted" his guilt. He claimed the suspect had told him he "planned" the events of the day for some time.
