According to reports, the boy who will be charged as an adult ordered a VR set from his mom's Amazon account on the morning following her death.

A 10-year-old boy, who claimed that he had accidentally shot and killed the mother of his family last month, has been charged with homicide.

November 21 was the date of the fatal shooting. Police said that the boy was "playing" and twirling the gun around his finger, when the gun went off while his mom was washing laundry.

The child's family called the authorities the next day about his behavior following the shooting. This prompted a follow up interview with the child who allegedly confessed to firing the gun at his mother.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the boy told his aunt that he had pointed the gun at his mother after the death of his mother. She then said, "Why are you having that?" You need to put that down. Add to that, the aunt and sister claimed that the child didn't express any emotion or remorse over the death of his mother. They also said that he ordered an Oculus VR headset from Amazon the morning after her death.

Also, he was accused of attacking his 7 year-old cousin. After his aunt brought him to her house, he allegedly stated that he was sorry for "killing my mom". Then a question was asked if the Amazon package had arrived.

A family also reported past disturbing behavior they had seen or heard about over the years to police. The child claimed that he heard imaginary voices and set fire to a balloon containing flammable liquid in his living room.

Police decided to interview the boy again after the family raised concerns. He reportedly said he had aimed the gun at his mom and tried to scare her by shooting at a wall. But she walked right in front of him.

Also, he allegedly claimed that he took the gun out of a lockbox in his home because his mother had woken him up half an hour earlier than usual... and wouldn't allow him to place an Amazon order.

The boy was charged with adult reckless homicide in the first degree. FYI: Children as young as 10 years old can be charged with serious crimes in Wisconsin. However, his lawyer wants to take his case to juvenile court. His bail was set at $50,000 and he is currently being held in juvenile detention.

One of the boy's lawyers stated in a statement that "this is an absolute tragedy for our family." "I don’t think anyone would dispute that. The adult system is completely ill-equipped for meeting the needs of a 10-year old child."
