Bayside High will mourn the loss of Screech powers when "Saved by the Bell" airs on Peacock's second season later this month. This is in tribute to Dustin Diamond.

Although Diamond was not asked to appear on the first season, the show had hoped that he would be included in future seasons. He died earlier this year at the age 44. The original cast and crew worked together to honor Diamond's memory.

Variety was informed by Tracey Wigfield, showrunner. I did not want to show that, but I wanted to ensure we were sensitive. He was a real man who was loved by many. It's not okay to tell jokes about it or discuss it in a way that could hurt someone's feelings.

This tribute episode will include footage from the original series to show the lasting impact of Screech & Diamond's legacy.

After a long battle with stage four lung carcinoma, Diamond died in February at the age of 44. When his condition worsened, the actor had just finished his first round in chemotherapy.

Diamond's representative stated that he was only diagnosed with the brutal, relentless form malignant cancer three weeks ago. It spread quickly throughout his body and the only thing that saved him was his swift and painless execution. Dustin did not suffer."

"He didn't have to be in pain. We are thankful for that."

Diamond's co-stars on "Saved By The Bell", paid tribute to him via social media.

Access Hollywood was informed by Mario Lopez that he had to announce the death of his friend, Saved by the Bell costar. He said, "He was like my little brother and we remained in touch over the years." After he received his diagnosis, I spoke with him several weeks ago. He was positive and full of energy even then. It is important to remember that life is fragile and should not be taken for granted. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dustin's friends and family."

Tiffani Thiessen posted a tribute on her Instagram page. She said, "I am deeply sorry by the news that my old co-star @realdustindiamond has passed. It's important to remember that life is fragile and should not be taken for granted. Godspeed Dustin.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar posted a tribute to Dustin Diamond on Twitter, writing: "Deeply saddened" His family and friends are my sincere condolences. When I look back on our time together, I will remember those brilliant sparks only he could produce. My comrade, a pie in your face."

"I am grateful that Dustin and I were able to collaborate on the creation of our dreams. Those sweet memories and the laughs shared will be cherished. Rest in Peace. Elizabeth Berkley added a note to her page at that time.

Lark Voorhies added: "Dustin was a special friend of mine, he was a caring man, and I will forever cherish my memories of him," she said. I am very sorry that he has passed. It's especially difficult for his family members who must deal with the tragic loss and great grief. They are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
