Shemar Moore Calls Out CBS: 'Canceling SWAT Is a F---ing Mistake'

Moore admitted that he would "probably get in a lot trouble with CBS" for this post and urged fans to "make f---ing ruckus" about the "abrupt cancellation" of the show.

Shemar Moore was very upset that CBS had cancelled his show, "S.W.A.T." Shemar Moore expressed his disappointment and shock at the cancellation of "S.W.A.T." after six seasons in a video posted on Instagram.

Since the show's debut in 2017, Moore, 53, has played Hondo. Moore claims that no one knew when filming began that this would be the last episode of the series. The show has seen a rise in ratings but the executive producer Shawn Ryan stated in March that "the economics of the business have changed" and the reason for not renewing the show would be financial.

SWAT was canceled. It makes no sense. Read the articles. CBS's Friday night show at 8:00 is the best. Moore stated in his video that "we have been crushing it for the last two years." "Fire Country, us and the fireshow that follows [us], and respect to them brothers and sisters. Respect them. We have done nothing wrong. "We did everything asked for."

"And I'll tell you the truth, we're diverse." Did you know that I am the only African American lead male on network television? Network television, not streaming or cable. He continued by saying that he was the only African American lead male on television. Then he brought up "NCIS:LA", and claimed Chris O'Donnell "wasn't the #1" in the show.

Moore called "SWAT" "the most diverse show on CBS" and said that the network "got a lot flack for its lack of diversity when he got hired to front the program."

He continued: "If I post it, and I believe I will, I will be in trouble with CBS, because I am calling them out. They've been great to me for 26 years out of my career." "But, to be abruptly told that you're cancelled, after you had led us to believe that there would at least be a season 7, to say goodbye if not to continue, and to suddenly hear, 'You are done', is a very disappointing experience." It's all about the money.

Moore claimed that CBS or Sony would "realize" this was not the best move going forward. Moore said, "I hope that we can come together to sing a kumbaya so that we can continue the show. It's fun for families around the world."

"If this is the end, then life will continue, and I am not concerned about myself." I am concerned about my family, crew, writers, producers, caterers, wardrobe, sound mixers and teamsters. That's a lot of people who are being told, "You don't really matter, sorry. Thank you for your service." Moore continued, "Good luck finding a job." "That's not acceptable to me."

He said that he is not bitter but "a little sad" and reiterated that he will be "fine no matter what happens."

"I know it's not personal. It's business. But I still believe that SWAT will survive to see another day." Moore said, "I don't even know where I am, or how I can get there." He then asked fans to make some noise, and tell them that canceling SWAT was a mistake.

"This could get me into a lot more trouble, but guess who, I am Gucci and I'm gay. "I'm making this because I think it's not okay." he concluded. This is not the way to leave. We can go out, but we should do it right. "And I'm finished."

Amy Reisenbach (President of CBS Entertainment) praised "the amazing talents of the SWAT Cast led by Shemar Moore," and the writers and producers for producing "compelling and action-packed episodes which also addressed important social concerns and contributed to our prime-time line-up."

The statement concluded with "We thank them sincerely for their incredible passion and work, as well as our dedicated fans who tune in every week."
