This week, Simon Cowell, a TV personality, has not been kind to the internet. Cowell took to Twitter recently to promote Britain’s Got Talent.

"I always say that two to three minutes can make a difference in your life. It has, as I have said on the show. This time it might be you. "So, please audition now for next season's, and I look forward to meeting with you," Cowell stated in a now-deleted clip (via NBC Bay Area).

It doesn't seem like Cowell's positive message resonated well with his fans. His appearance was the most important thing in viewers' minds.

Many people commented on the video about how Cowell has changed. Many commenters were adamant that Cowell had gone too far in cosmetic fillers and other operations, and showed no restraint.

Many commenters might be surprised to learn that Cowell actually addressed his changing appearance in past. Cowell actually revealed that he had to remove his cosmetic fillers because he realized he'd gone too far.

Cowell stated that in 2018, The Sun had reached a point where he might have gone too far. I saw a photo of me from "before" the other day and couldn't identify it as me at first... Eric (his child) was in complete hysterics. It was enough. My face is clear. Zero."

Evidently, Cowell made the decision to focus on his health and shift gears. "There was a time when everyone had their faces pumped with this or that. For me, the majority of it is down to healthy eating habits and drinking tons of water.

Online Hate is a Disturbing Trend

Given Cowell's comments in the past, it may be that Cowell is now looking different because of Cowell's use of cosmetic fillers. It is a disturbing trend, however.

Women have been the victims of internet-based appearance-bashing for decades. It seems that people are becoming more comfortable with the idea of trashing men's looks.

This constant cyber-shaming is actually still ageist. As they age, people look different. Naturally, this is due to natural aging. However, Cowell's example shows that it could also be due regrettable past choices.

It doesn't matter what the cause is, it's not productive to attack someone because of their appearance.
