Stella, Melanie Griffith's daughter and Antonio Banderas’s son, wants to legally change her surname.

According to court documents, Stella del Carmen Banderas Griffith, a model, was born Stella del Carmen Banderas Griffith. She filed a petition for a name change and requested that her legal name be shortened. Stella del Carmen Banderas is Stella's mother. She wants her last name to be dropped and her legal name changed to Stella del Carmen Banderas.

In court documents, the entrepreneur explained why she requested a name change.

According to ET Canada, Stella stated that she wanted to reduce the length of her name and remove the last name. "Also, I don't use the name 'Griffith" when referring to myself or documents. Dropping the name would be in line with my usual usage."

On Instagram, Stella's username is @StellaBanderasGriffth, however, she lists her name in her profile as Stella Banderas.

Stella was born in Marbella (Spain) in 1996. On her mother's side, she is half-sister to actress Dakota Johnson and Alexander Bauer. Dakota is the daughter of actor Don Johnson and Alexander is Melanie's first marriage. Stella's celebrity parents, Melanie and Antonio, were married between 1996 and 2015. Stella is their one child.

Stella did not request Griffith be removed from her last name. She doesn't seem to feel any ill will towards Stella.

In fact, Melanie posted photos of Stella, 31, and Dakota, 31, earlier this week on Instagram to celebrate National Daughters Day.

Last month, the actress aged 64 appeared to have celebrated her mother's birthday with her daughters. Melanie shared an Instagram photo that featured gold balloons spelling out "Mama" The caption she added to the photo was "I love my girls."

Stella was also seen on the red carpet with Antonio, her father at the San Sebastian Film Festival last Wednesday. Melanie shared sweet photos of her daughter and her ex-husband at the event via Instagram.

"Father and daughter Stella and Antonio on the red carpet at San Sebastion [sic] Film Festival," she wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags and tags, "#reunited #family #love @stellabanderasgriffth @antoniobanderasgriffith."
