Tim Bliefnick made jokes about regretting his marriage to Becky in 2020 while competing on Family Feud. He is now on trial for the murder of Becky after she was shot fourteen times.

The murder trial of a former "Family Feud' contestant, who joked that his biggest mistake on his wedding day was saying "I Do" in an appearance on the TV show began this week in Illinois. Tim Bliefnick is accused of killing his estranged wife Rebecca Bliefnick. Her body was found with numerous bullet wounds in her home last year.

He has denied two counts of murder in the first degree and home invasion.

The trial began this week with Adams County Assistant State Attorney Josh Jones telling the court, "The last minutes of Becky’s life weren't spent in the warm embraces of her three kids, but rather in fear, pain, and horror as she laid on the cold gray tiles of the bathroom floor slowly bleeding out."

He claimed that Tim had also searched for "How to open my front door with a crowbar?" He also claimed that Tim's phone showed searches for queries including, "How to open my door with a crowbar?" and "How do I make a pistol silencer at home?" The prosecution claims that the suspect used a bar to get into Becky's second-floor bedroom before chasing and shooting her fourteen times.

Family says that a father was beaten to death in front of his home after a fight between he and his son at middle school.

William Postle, Becky's dad, told the court (via ABC Chicago) how he found her body.

"I ran to the top of the stairs and, since she was supposed to be sick, I went into the bedroom to check if she was lying down. I didn't see any evidence in her room. When I went into the bathroom attached, that's where I found her dead body on the floor. He recalled that she looked dead.

Sarah, Becky's older sister, read out a text sent by her late brother to her, her husband, and to her: "If anything ever happens to you, please ensure that Tim is the person who will do it to you." A former coworker was also called to testify this week. She said she received similar texts, but neither Sarah nor the other friends reported anything to police or told other family members.

Christine Moore also said that she received messages in 2021 from Becky claiming Tim had "screamed at me, shoved me before the children, and thrown things in the room while the kids and myself were standing." She read another in which Becky claimed that the only way for the children of the former couple to choose Tim over her was to "eliminate" her.

One of the two divorce lawyers for her testified that this was a "very contentious divorce".

One person said that the couple was separated and had an order in place prohibiting either party from going to the home of the other without permission unless it was for the purpose of delivering their children. He said that she bought a gunsafe and was trying to get Tim to give her a 9mm pistol. Police testified he had asked them for assistance. However, they denied his request for them to be involved with the return.

A crime scene technician shared pictures of Rebecca, who had bullet holes on her hands, her torso, and in other places, during her testimony. She was lying flat on her back at the time her body was discovered.

The defense attorney for the suspect said in his opening remarks to the court that "this case is dripping from reasonable doubt." "No divorce is good but it's still not murder."

Tim appeared on the 2020 episode of "Family Feud", and when asked by Steve Harvey what he thought was his "biggest wedding mistake," he replied, "Honey I love you but said I Do."

"Not my fault, not my error" I love my spouse. "I'm going to get in trouble for this, aren’t I?" He laughed at the time.
