The 'Property Brother" Lawsuit is almost a year old. Here's the latest update

Jonathan and Drew Scott wear business casual wear on the red carpet

A couple in Las Vegas was less than happy with the home's renovations and filed the Property Brothers lawsuit. It will be one month since that filing. The suit was filed in January by the couple. They quickly voiced their complaints about the condition of their home, which they had hoped to make their dream home. Although Jonathan and Drew Scott were not named in the suit the former production company of the brothers as well as local contracting companies used by HGTV's reality show are listed.

Why the 'Property Brothers Lawsuit was Filed

Because the court process is slow, the ongoing lawsuit by a couple whose "dream house" was featured on HGTV's hit show Property Brothers continues. Paul and Mindy King claim that their renovations were substandard and that the electrical work was not up to code.

Mindy stated that the shoddy work on the house had caused the damage to her spouse's new appliances in an interview with KTNV. According to Mindy, the grout was actually applied to the wall. It's not even straight grout. Moreover, the range is completely scratched because of the grout in its burners.

A long list of complaints from unhappy home owners

In their filing, the Kings claimed that local contractors hired by Property Brothers' ex-production company, Cineflix made several mistakes that led to poor craftsmanship. Ville Construction, the contractor, was accused of installing the wrong kitchen backsplash, uneven baseboards and doors that were difficult or impossible to open or close.

What's Happening in the Courts

Heavy has obtained Clark County court records that show there have been numerous attempts to dismiss the suit by the defendants. There have also been delays in the court proceedings. After the Kings had filed an amended complaint 20 days prior, the first motion to dismiss was filed in February. The second motion came on May 25, a few months later.

Two hearings have already been held. The most recent took place on June 29, this year. A second hearing was scheduled for November 23 but was cancelled. If both sides don't reach an agreement quickly, the case will remain open.
