The trailer for HBO Max's highly anticipated Harry Potter reunion special has been released. It is making many feel emotional, including star Emma Watson. The streaming platform will air Harry Potter 20th anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on New Years Day.

Watson: "It feels like no time has passed"

Trailer features Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe making appearances. The Warner Bros. taped the special. Studio Tour London featured cast members taking interviews at the locations where they once shot.

Watson said in the trailer that it felt like "no time had passed" and Grunt agreed, noting that he has seen his co-stars mature and been there through every stage. They were children when they were cast in Harry Potter's first movie. Watson and Radcliffe were 11 years old, while Grint was 12.

Radcliffe also expressed his concerns about the franchise. He said that "the implication was that the most meaningful part of our lives was finished." Then he added that after a "joyous reunion" with his castmates, Radcliffe realized that "it wasn’t."

Watson says, "When things are really dark and times get really difficult, there's something in Harry Potter that makes it richer," as Watson holds back tears while the trio talks about what the movies mean to them and others over the years. Grint agrees that it is a strong bond they will always have, before they hug.

Special Is Full Of Familiar Faces

Interviews and appearances by Helena Bonham Carter and Robbie Coltrane will be featured in the special. David Heyman and Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell will all be on hand.

This is only the latest installment in a series of Harry Potter movies. The trailer for Fantastic Beasts : The Secrets of Dumbledore just dropped. It will be released on April 15th. A game show, Harry Potter Tournament of Houses has also been popular.
