The suspect then grabbed a knife and chased his victim through the restaurant.

The video shows the employee running for his life as he is threatened by a man who has been charged with attempted murder.

Allegro Pizza was the target of a Sunday afternoon police response, according to the Thousand Oaks Police Department. After their initial investigation they claim that suspect Robert Haight, with his dog, entered the establishment and "unprovoked" started to squirt a lighter fluid onto an employee doing prep work.

Authorities said that Haight grabbed a large knife and chased an employee throughout the store. They added that the employee fled through a back rear door.

Below is a video that was shared by the store with Fox11 showing the incident.

A Good Samaritan intervened when the suspect allegedly followed his victim to the parking lot in the back. Police say that the second victim was also sprayed with lighter fluid and assaulted before Haight could get to him.

The suspect was taken into custody by police shortly after the second assault. He was then transported to hospital for treatment. Haight is charged with two counts of assault using a caustic chemical, and one count with assault using a death weapon. His bail has been set at $500,000. According to records, Haight was released on Tuesday.

Raul Ferrero, the shop owner of Fox 11, said that the store was closed when the attack occurred and the cook was preparing for the nightshift at the moment. He claimed that his employee initially thought it was "a joke," and that he was being sprayed with a liquid. However, after smelling the liquid he realized what was really happening.

Witnesses told the outlet a trucker was the Good Samaritan who "knocked out" Haight. "His blood was dripping from his head and another man was in the parking lot saying 'you need to leave here or I will knock you out again'."

Fox reported that the suspect's pet dog was taken to a shelter.
