While royals can be criticised for many reasons, Prince William is being criticized for his choice of sports team. The prince supports England's soccer team and leaves his Welsh subjects in the cold.

Prince William Picks Sides in Upcoming World Cup

After Queen Elizabeth's death, William assumed the title of Prince of Wales from his father. He seems to be still learning how to manage his British and Welsh subjects. Elin Jones, a Welsh politician, asked him questions about which team he would support in the World Cup.

Jones gave William a Wales football cap and then stated, "They will play each other in a few months." "I won't ask" The prince refused to reveal the team he was supporting. He laughed and said, "No, it's okay, I'm telling everybody I'm supporting both. "I can't lose."

"I Happily Support Wales over England in The Rugby"

William said, "I have supported England since I was quite small." "But, I support Welsh rugby and that is my way of doing so. I will happily support Wales in rugby over England so I have to be able play with my affiliations. If I drop England to support Wales, it will not be right for the sport. That's why I won't.

Jones stated, "We can disagree to disagree," to this William responded, "An England-Wales World Cup final would have been the best, that would' be pretty good." However, the prince made sure to support the Welsh team.

He explained that he will be there to support Wales throughout the whole process as he knows it is a huge deal for Wales. "When I was growing-up, Wales didn't get through to the tournaments. So I had to make a decision."

Their take on the upcoming Rugby and Soccer World Cups

Jones and he then discussed the forthcoming World Cup in Qatar. Jones stated, "It is tragic that it's in Qatar, however, the First Minister is going outside and that's going be absolutely fine for them to go out. It's confusing... it's not in Qatar, and it would be a great joy for many more.

William noted that "But we will have Rugby World Cup France next year, it will be a huge deal." William's support for England in the forthcoming World Cup means that he is in for some good-natured ribbing by his Welsh subjects.
